Following our one-on-one interview with the leader of Medway Council’s opposition Cllr Vince Maple, we were reminded of David Cameron’s warning tweet against chaos with Ed Milliband. Chaos instead of the stability and strength that only he, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, and Rishi Sunak could provide instead. If Cllr Maple is made leader of Medway Council after our upcoming local elections, will Medway be facing chaos rather than the continued ‘stability and strength’ of Medway’s Conservatives?

Whilst it’s impossible to prove a counterfactual, we can look at the motions that Cllr Maple and the other members of the Labour Group have brought to full council since he became group leader in 2012. Last year, we looked at what this would have meant had Cllr Maple and the Medway Labour group been in charge between 2012 and 2015.

In the second part of this hypothetical, let’s assume Cllr Maple became the leader of Medway Council in 2015. Let’s take a look at the motions and votes Medway Labour put forward while in opposition to get a taste of what kind of chaos they would bring to Medway if they were in charge.

Let us continue.

Agents of chaos.
