It's nice that there is a thriving bunch of Christmas-enthusiasts willing to chip in to Save Christmas, etc. I do wonder if they'd put their hands in their pockets as readily if the crowdfunder was instead to fund something like homelessness services, additional care worker support or food banks, but there you go I guess.
Surely all that cash should be refunded to the donors? I can’t remember now if the original call mentioned a “what if the council had a plan B?” but that would have allowed donors to give with that possibility in mind. Having a legacy fund isn’t a million miles off that purpose but, still, it’s not necessarily what donors were giving towards or aware of.
It's a shame they are dismantling the gasometer at the Strand. It would have been nice if they managed to do something similar to what they managed to achieve at Kings Cross https://www.kingscross.co.uk/gasholders-london
Dead on about the awful Council Chamber. Even if we can't afford a new chamber why can't Councillors actually sit and face the people who elected them? The St George's Centre is inaccessible except by car and nights like Thursday provided a genuine Halloween experience. Full marks to the Mayor and her castigation of a senior Councillor in response to one of the most relevant points of order ever made at Council!

MQT was great by the way. Keep up the good work.
