What happened to the Great Lines music festival?
Plans were afoot for a 25,000 capacity dance festival in Gillingham, and then they weren't
It’s a hot summer weekend. The skies are clear, and a repetitive thump can be heard across much of Medway. Gillingham town centre is swamped with tens of thousands of young people on their way to a new event on the Great Lines. It’s a huge event for our towns, generating significant local economic benefits.
Or at least that’s what should have happened.
The recent summer was supposed to see the first Great Lines Music Festival, although it likely would have had a cooler name by the time it happened.
But in the end, it didn’t.
So what happened?
