Most of the areas in the Strood etc. area have been waiting (re)development for a while, but what seems to be surprising is the inclusion (I think) of Church Green at Frindsbury. That could be controversial.
What development will be required after 2040. The rural area has so far been lucky over the years and that luck is running out. They will need, as much as they will hate it, housing in their areas. Not every house has to come to urban areas. The fact the tories failed to do their duty to Medway means Labour will have to step up they plate. Not sure they have the ability to do that.
the docks were always going to close because peel ports are not going to pay to refurbish the locks and no one else will. The strand gas works I thought were still used, and who wants to live on motney hill with sewage works for neighbours. I still find it amazing we are so far below our quota with all the building around st marys island and rochester riverside as well as all the other houses built in any avaliable space around the towns
Lower Rainham Road is roughly where the sea came to in the last interglacial (when people didn't get to Britain). It's a bit close to the sea for comfort, unless you want it to be valueless when the mortgage is paid off.
Maybe worth looking again at the Green Belt... A lot of it is 'brownfield' formerly industrial or quarrying. Areas exactly like those Tonbridge and Malling have been filling with housing up to the Medway boundary. Someone drew the outer edge of the London green belt with a compass, and it doesn't make sense. And, of course Maidstone is planning on filling up the area between the M2 and the Medway boundary round Lordswood/Hempstead with housing, so that side would look rather different.

On second thoughts, scrub that - think that is the old quarry off Commissioners Road, another area planned for development for a while....
