Another week, another edition of Local Authority led by a story I couldn't have predicted a couple of weeks ago. Who knows what the coming weeks will bring us, but it would be great if I didn’t have to write about a particular politician for a little while at least. Nobody loves Rehman
What a whirlwind week it’s been for Gillingham and Rainham MP Rehman Chishti.
Last Friday I had to hastily rewrite this very newsletter after he expressed interest in running to become Conservative party leader, and thus Prime Minister.
On Saturday (at 10pm no less), he announced that he would indeed give it a go.
By Monday it was all over.
So what was Rehman thinking, and what does this mean for his future?
