Where are the accusations of transphobia? Who said something that is specifically anti - trans? Who, what and where? If you are going to say that there’s transphobia you must back it up. Inference means nothing.

Indeed - seems to be all inference and no evidence. And to question why people are being invited to speak but then say “we support free speech” seems a bit disingenuous.

Sorry I don’t understand. People are being invited to speak. That’s normal isn’t it? What is wrong?

If being pro-women makes someone or thing anti-trans, it must mean that there is a clash between the rights of those two groups. Coffey ignores the fact that there are females who are trans so really this is more about males wanting to muscle in on events aimed at females.

I have great admiration of anyone or any group of people who put on a festival. There will always be criticism of what is included and what is excluded. However, it has been apparent to me that there is a missing element in the RLF programme, influenced by the views of the organisers. Speaking as a step-parent of a trans woman, I am saddened by the polarisation of views on trans issues. And the intransigence of views, which I find hurtful and worrying. Jen, my stepdaughter, is a woman.

I do find the arguments of trans women being out to abuse cis-gendered women as offensive as those who used to say, back in the 80s, they wouldn't want to sit next to a gay man on the bus, or have them close to their children.

It’s nonsense to suggest the supermarkets support the farmers. If they really wanted to support them they’d use some of their significant profits to pay them fair prices. Incredibly gullible to think they’re on the farmers’ side.

Above all else, Int Women’s Day exists to celebrate female success and share female experiences, so why mention men?

It seems to be the case that some people claim the day should only be recognised if it also repeats the mantras about men being women.

On International Men’s Day and Prostate Cancer Awareness campaigns, where are the women pushing to be mentioned and included?

Women need pay no heed of men wanting to be called women. As girls are suspended from football matches for pointing out that a man is playing g in a women’s event, the issue of women’s rights needs to be clear that women’s spaces DO exclude all men — regardless of self-perception or clothing.

Why have people become comfortable ignoring women’s needs and experiences? Women do not have to centre men.

And FYI, LGB are sex-specific sexualities. TQ+etc deny that sex is material/relevant, so all very confused messaging.

Regardless, women exist. Men cannot become women. Women and girls deserve recognition and legal standing distinct from all men.

As important as an issue the Gaza conflict is, I strongly disagree with Cllr Shokar only participating in the council meeting solely to raise that particular issue and not bother engaging with anything else that his constituents may be concerned with.

The motion he put forth was performative; How can he reasonably expect a local authority in England to have such an influence on international affairs?

I assume that the intention is for the council to make a statement, as representative bodies of different sizes often do, regardless of their lack of influence (see also the UK parliament). And with BAE actually being present in the area, it would point out to them that this is the local position, as agreed by the elected representatives of the populace. As it turned out, it wasn't in this case.

Can't argue with you about him leaving. That was, presumably, performative however deeply felt.
