Quite a few new paid supporters this week, so thank you so much for upgrading! The Friday newsletter is free for everyone, but these Tuesday ones are our little secret. They cover a range of subjects - some weeks I’ll do a long form essay on something Medway related, sometimes an events guide, or whatever else feels appropriate really. This week we return to planning, a perennial favourite.

Medway receives about 200 planning applications in the average month, and I’m the idiot who actually spends his time reading through them. Most of them are pretty boring - house extensions are very common, as are tree removals and driveways - but search through enough and you inevitably find something more interesting. Below are a selection of the somewhat more interesting applications submitted to Medway Council over the past month.
